    Pakistan northern areas is full of hidden gems lik Pakistan northern areas is full of hidden gems like this one. One of my favourite lakes. This is Gattian lake in very close proximity of Rattigali lake. When you are at Rattigali lake then Gattian lake is behind the mountain ⛰️ on your left side. πŸ“ Gattian lake, Surgan valley, Neelum valley, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan πŸ‡΅πŸ‡° Getting to Gattian lake is difficult from Rattigali lake because you have to cross a 4000+ meters high mountain pass to get there. You need your own camping equipment to spend night at Gattian lake otherwise you will have to do return trip from Rattigali lake in one day (which I did in 2023 crossing Gattian pass twice same was very hectic). Here is how to visit Gattian lake the easy way (assuming from Islamabad, you can calculate times from other cities using Google maps): 1- It will take 6-8 hours from Islamabad to Sharda (road is in good condition as of 2024) 2- 30 minutes drive from Sharda to Surgan village (road is good hence can go in own car but car parking is recommended at Sharda and going in local 4x4) 3- It takes 2 Hours jeep drive till Gattian lake’s exit stream near Noori top (where there is now camping facility available) 4- It takes 2-3 hours of easy trek to reach Gattian lake It is possible to make a day trip to Gattian lake in 1 day from Sharda if you start early morning. Alternate option is through Naran with night stay at Noori top.
